Peter “Pete” Michael Sorensen, age 71, of Portland, Oregon passed away on April 15, 2018 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1946 in Seattle, Washington to the late William Sorensen and the late Mary Ellen Sorensen.
Pete is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lorna Sorensen. Lorna was the love of his life and by his side for many good times. After retiring, they traveled together to Mexico, on a European cruise and Paris.
Pete leaves behind his brother, David (wife Chris) Sorensen of Seattle WA; son, Jeff (wife Angela) Waggoner of Belton TX; as well as three grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, and Samantha and great-granddaughter, Olivia.
He attended the University of Washington and bled purple and gold for his passion of the University of Washington Huskies. Pete was a graduate of the Ron Bailie School of Broadcasting.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.
He retired after working over 30 years in the steel industry.
He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. Pete and Lorna traveled numerous times to Texas for Pete’s “foodcations”. He also loved playing his weekly golf games with friends.
