Susan Rathburn East was born on March 3, 1931 in Mason Wyoming to George and Tressie McCann. She passed away in her home in Portland, Oregon on May 23, 2023 at the age of 92.
Susan was a loving, understanding, and patient mother. She had her silly side, but was generally a relatively mild-mannered, quiet woman. Her family will always remember just how much she cared and how hard she worked to make sure her kids were taken care of.
She was a member of the Church of Christ. Through her life, Susan enjoyed several hobbies. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing. Other interests included arts and crafts and working with ceramics. She enjoyed crocheting and is remembered to be quite the seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard East; her sisters Lorraine and Lois; and her brothers Ernest and George.
Susan is survived by her children: Jerry East, Debra East, Sharon East, and Mark (Jill) East; grandchildren Meloney East, Jason East, Shelby East, Antonio Leiva-East and Rian Leiva-East; sister Clyda; and brothers: Dell, Roy, and Colin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6th at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home. A chapel funeral service will begin at noon, followed by a committal service out in the cemetery at 1:00pm. Viewing will be held prior to services, starting at 11:00am.
